Amy Schumacher

My Dad, Duane "Dewey" Schumacher died from Pancreatic cancer at the age of 73 in April 2008.  I knew a little about Pancreatic Cancer but did not realize fully the grim statistics until I had scoured the internet after his first of many CT scans that began in August of 2007. The devastation that Pancreatic Cancer has left in its wake is huge. My dad was energetic, healthy and enjoyed the mental challenges that playing sports brought.  He was an avid curler, baseball player and a croquet extradordinaire.  He loved his work as an attorney and had been with Dewitt Ross and Stevens for almost 40 years.  My dad had a magnetic smile and a hearty laugh.  Left behind are my brother Scott, my sister Beth, 5 young grandchildren and our mother Cindy.  They would have celebrated their 38th anniversary this past June.

I am personally invested in and dedicated to helping raise awareness
and funding to this horrible disease.  Even though my dad is gone, I
know in my heart that my dads legacy will live on through my siblings
and our children.

Back Row: Beth, Cindy and Dewey. Front Row: Amy and grandson Caleb.
Taken on Sept 16th; the day before his official diagnosis.
